You Can Get Sober Anywhere!

Many people don’t really ever think about drug treatment centers unless they have been touched in some way by addiction, whether it is their own addiction or that of a loved one, and when we do think about drug and alcohol rehab we think of cold, sterile, institutions. We conjure up images of abused patients and suffering. In reality that is not how drug treatment centers work, and honestly, it should never be that way. In this drug treatment center you will be surrounded by mountains, trees, and have access to hiking trails and outdoor activities that you may not get to experience if you live somewhere else. Location is as important to recovery as the people you trust to help you through your darkest days.
You don’t want to stay in the same environment that condones your drug abuse, you need to get away from your life the way you know it and experience it in a different light. Removing yourself from negative outside influences is a positive step in the right direction. Of course with all the news about the rich and famous being able to waltz in and out of drug and alcohol rehab centers has probably left many people jaded in regards to drug treatment centers. Their behavior does nothing but make drug treatment centers look like a joke to the people on the outside looking in. We think of these famous people who fall from grace and are in and out of rehabs that don’t ever seem to work. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Sure the famous and wealthy seem to be able to come and go as they please out of their drug treatment centers when they are rehabilitating, but that is their choice. It would be your choice to if you decided you didn’t want to stay. But you are different! Not only because you don’t have millions of dollars to throw away on half hearted attempts at sobriety, but because you want to be sober for you, not because your publicist tells you it is good PR. You know that your sobriety can’t be achieved without the help of experienced professionals that know what you’ve been through and who know what you are going to go through. When you are sober you will know you were right when you chose a quality drug treatment facility.
