Vista Bay Graduate, Jenna P.Completed the Program in 2007
I started smoking pot at the age of thirteen. It wasn’t long after that when I started abusing alcohol. I had a severe lack of self esteem, and virtually no confidence in myself. This led me to experiment with drugs, and before I knew it I was addicted to cocaine. I lived in denial about it for almost four years. After all, drugs made me feel good! A life without drugs, to me, seemed inconceivable. Of course, I wasn’t fooling anybody. My health was deteriorating fast, and it was obvious in my looks. I was a mess, and I was the only person who didn’t see it. My parents and my friends insisted that I get help to overcome my addictions. That’s when I came to Vista Bay. It proved to be the best decision I ever made. A Vista Bay staff person met me at the airport. He was really friendly, extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. When I got to the facility the staff was equally friendly. I felt as if I was in a safe and comfortable environment where I could heal. I had the best time while in the sauna program. During this time I got my health and my looks back. Once I got all of the drugs and harmful toxins out of my body I felt better then I imagined I could ever feel again! I was never much of a student. I barely passed high school with Cs and Ds. During book 3 (The Learning Improvement Course), I learned a truly effective way of studying. I used this new skill to get through the rest of the program and I plan to use it throughout my life. The rest of the program was great! I learned to take responsibility for myself and for others. I reestablished my personal ethics and learned how to improve my condition in life. The time I spent at Vista Bay was one of the only times in my life that I consider to be well spent. Completing this program was one of my biggest accomplishments, but because of it, I know that I am going to accomplish much, much more! Thank you, Vista Bay! - Jenna P. |
