Vista Bay Graduate, Nyssa A.
Completed the Program in 2006
My name is Nyssa and I’m 20 years old. I got into drugs like a lot of kids do – from peer pressure and simple curiosity. However, like a lot of kids, my curiosity turned into full-blown addiction. By the time I turned 18 I was an absolute mess. It took another two years before I finally came to the realization that I was an addict. A friend told my parents about VistaBay and a couple of months ago I checked in.
I’ve had a lot of success since arriving here at Vista Bay. First of all, being sober is one of the best successes I’ve ever achieved for myself. I have now been sober for 62 days and it’s been great. I’ve learned how to confront my problems. So now I’ll be able to confront any situation I might walk into and be able handle it in the right way.
The Sauna Detoxification Program was fantastic. I could actually feel the toxins leaving my body. Afterwards, I felt like a whole new person. I felt more active, more awake, and more ambitious. VistaBay has taught me how to live again. I can’t wait until I have a chance to give back to others just as they have helped me. I want to thank all of the Vista Bay staff and students here for helping me get my life back. I know I couldn’t have done it anywhere else.
- Nyssa A.
I came to Vista Bay in April of '07. I was a drug dealer as well as an addict. I knew the lifestyle I was involved with would either lead me to jail or death.
Not long ago, I honestly thought I was going to die. I was hopelessly addicted to pills, and maybe a few other things. I was so out of it that I really had no idea what I was putting into my body after a while.
